Andrea Barth is a co-founder of Ambleside at Skylark. She and her husband, Rick Barth, started an engineering company in 2005 that operated in the Glenwood Springs, CO area until 2012. Earning a Bachelors degree in Biology from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1997, she has worked in medical research on Pediatric Medulloblastomas and in sequencing porcine DNA for transplant research at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.  Andrea and Rick have three children who attend the school and 1 that graduated from Ambleside at Skylark.
P1030578 Rick Barth is a co-founder of Ambleside at Skylark. He attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Secondary Major of Environmental Science, focusing on hydrology. He began work in Dallas, Texas until he and Andrea married in 1998, at which time he switched to an engineering firm in Oklahoma City and finished his Masters in Business Administration at the University of Oklahoma. It was there that they began to see some sound, deep teaching of the scriptures at their church. Upon moving to Glenwood Springs in 2000, Rick began working for one of the larger engineering firms in the Roaring Fork valley.  He and Andrea subsequently started their own engineering firm, which operated for seven years, and he is now City Engineer for Rifle, CO.  Over the years, Rick has served on missions, elder, and school boards.  Rick completed a Masters of Arts of Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, graduating in September of 2012. Through this, he has taught several classes from business to theology and apologetics, as well as preached numerous times in the valley.

Chris Wenger – Co-Founder / Secretary Board of Directors

P1030580Over the course of 15 years as an educator, team-building facilitator, and manager, Chris has recognized there are two concepts which are universal to sustained academic achievement – expectations and engagement. With his experiences as co-founder of a small web start-up and as both Director of Marketing and Director of Online Continuing Education at Fisher College, Chris developed community based marketing campaigns which attracted new customers, retained current customers, and improved satisfaction. Through the years, he has continued to add depth to his organizational knowledge and skill set by acquiring an M.B.A (1998) and M.A. In Management and Leadership (2012) and is currently finishing his Doctorate in Education.  He volunteers as a judge for the annual DECA Teen Business Invitational in Glenwood Springs, CO.
Nicole Wenger – Co-Founder / Head of School (nonvoting member Board of Directors)
Nicole Wenger has over 20 years experience teaching, public speaking, and creating curriculum in both formal and informal education. A Conservation Biologist by education and passion, Nicole created and managed a science education company, Science Quest for 12 years. She has always carried a passion for education and working alongside parents to equip families to live life well. Mrs. Wenger has a B.S. from Bridgewater State University and a M.S. in Environmental Studies / Conservation Biology from Antioch University in Keene N.H. Chris and Nicole have two boys attending the school.

Cody O’Neil – Chairman
Cody O’Neil attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN, where he majored in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electric power systems.  Upon graduation, Cody moved back home to Colorado and accepted a job with a consulting firm working in the electric power industry.  He and Sage married soon after completing their college degrees and began living in the Denver metro area.  In the summer of 2006, Sage and Cody were fortunate to be able to move back to the western slope when Cody accepted a job with Holy Cross Energy here in Glenwood Springs.  Cody is the Senior Manager – Glenwood Operations for Holy Cross. Cody and Sage have two daughters, Taylor and Jordyn, whom attend Ambleside.

Kelli Shedden – Treasurer

Kelli Shedden relocated with her family to Glenwood Springs just over two years ago after spending nine years in the Pacific Northwest. She holds a Masters in Teacher Leadership and spent seven years teaching middle school Social Studies before staying home with her young daughter and son. Her husband, Matt, is the pastor of Defiance Church.
Aaron Shaffer 
Aaron Shaffer moved to the Roaring Fork Vally after graduating with a degree in Construction Management and a Masters in Leadership and Ethics from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR in 2008.  Aaron works for the Aspen Skiing Company in the Planning and Development Department and oversees the Facility Management Department.  He met his wife, Caitlyn, when he moved to the valley.  Aaron and Caitlyn have two sons, Hudson and Jacob.
